Health benefits of olive oil
Prevents cardiovascular diseases
Olive oil has a high level of fatty acids, such as oleic acid. This acid is part of the Omega 9 family and has the power to reduce the vast majority of cardiovascular diseases. Thus, it regulates blood cholesterol levels, lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) without harming good cholesterol (HDL), and therefore improves blood circulation while lowering blood pressure.
Strengthens the immune system
The body's defense against all types of infection is the immune system. Therefore, when it is strong, it will destroy any bacteria or viruses that try to invade the body. Therefore, another benefit of olive oil is keeping the immune system active. This is achieved thanks to the oil's powerful antioxidants as well as essential nutrients to keep the body healthy. Only then will it be protected against all diseases.
Protects the brain from cognitive decline
Thanks to the healthy fats in olive oil, they help protect the brain. In this case, they can help prevent memory problems and delay all types of mental decline associated with Alzheimer's-type diseases.
Keeps bones strong
One of the great benefits of olive oil is that it helps protect bones. This helps prevent diseases such as osteoporosis by consuming one or two tablespoons of the oil daily.
Delays aging
Olive oil can delay aging thanks to its high concentration of polyphenols, one of its main ingredients. These act as natural antioxidants, which are essential for delaying the appearance of wrinkles. Olive oil maintains skin elasticity thanks to the aforementioned fatty acids, as well as vitamins E and K.
Promotes digestion
Olive oil reduces gastric acid secretion, which is a mixture of secretions from various epithelial cells. Basically, gastric juice is a sodium chloride solution. Therefore, the oil reduces this secretion, protecting against gastrointestinal diseases and preventing heartburn.
Helps you lose weight
There are no miracle products, but it's true that some foods will help us control and even lose weight. In this case, the main benefit of olive oil is linked to a healthy diet. With the calories in olive oil, a couple of tablespoons a day, divided between main meals, whether cooked or raw, will provide this new benefit, as it is quite filling.
Against constipation
Olive oil should be consumed in moderation, as it can have a laxative effect. Therefore, it is a home remedy for mild constipation. It will help regulate bowel movements, soften hard stools, and eliminate intestinal inflammation or irritation.
Relieves joint pain
Of all the ingredients in olive oil, oleocanthal stands out. This is an isolated natural compound that gives it its flavor, but is also anti-inflammatory. This is why it will significantly reduce joint and muscle pain.
Anticancer properties
Apparently, studies have shown that thanks to the compounds in olive oil, it could prevent cancer. Once again, it's oleocanthal that's responsible for eliminating cancer cells, without harming the rest. Not only that, but within a healthy lifestyle, olive oil contains such good ingredients that the risk of developing the disease is lower in people who consume it regularly.
Fight diabetes
Studies are clear on this point: Cases of type 2 diabetes can be reduced by half thanks to the consumption of olive oil. This is because the healthy fats in this food help keep blood sugar levels regulated.
Protects the liver
Liver function will be strengthened if you consume a spoonful of olive oil on an empty stomach. It will help purify the body and also protect against fatty liver disease. As its name suggests, it is the process of fat formation in this organ. There are two types of this disease. One involves mild inflammation in the liver cells, while the second involves damage and some inflammation. Therefore, consuming olive oil can protect the liver and prevent this entire process.
Hydrates and nourishes the skin and hair
Both skin and hair will be perfectly nourished and hydrated thanks to this food. Regarding the former, the oil will delay aging. Meanwhile, it will add an extra touch of shine to hair, leaving it more natural and silky. It will also strengthen hair growth. All these properties and benefits are especially found in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which is the pure juice of healthy olives. The Mediterranean diet includes the daily use of olive oil as a dressing for salads, cooked vegetables, sauces, and sprinkled on bread instead of butter. Olive oil is essential for a complete and healthy diet. Furthermore, the oleic acid in olive oils helps fry foods, allowing for slower decomposition and less penetration of fats during frying.
Product details
Olive oil has a high level of fatty acids, such as oleic acid. This acid is part of the Omega 9 series. It has a high concentration of polyphenols. It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K.
- Vitamin A: This is one of the most important vitamins for our body. It helps the heart, kidneys, and other organs function properly. It's very important for vision and the immune system.
- Vitamin D: It will absorb calcium and keep your bones strong. But not only them, but your muscles also need a vitamin like this to balance their movements. At the same time, it will keep your immune system strong.
- Vitamin E: It is also called the vitamin of youth, because it is essential to prevent aging, since it is a very powerful antioxidant.
- Vitamin K: Essential for bone growth and maintenance. It also prevents various heart diseases and some types of cancer.
Currently, apart from the different categories of olive oils, we can classify extra virgin olive oils into two categories:
- Early Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oils: These oils stand out for their intensity and complexity. Extracted from the first olives of the year, these oils offer a concentrated, slightly bitter, and spicy flavor, with fruity and herbaceous nuances. Their deep and captivating aroma evokes notes of freshly cut grass, olive leaves, tomato, almond, and artichoke, creating a unique sensory experience. Thanks to their high polyphenol content, these oils possess powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, while also preserving their freshness for longer. Their intense green color distinguishes them at first glance, and their production, carried out in less than 24 hours from harvest, guarantees exceptional quality.
- Late-harvest extra virgin olive oils: These come from olives that have reached full ripeness, harvested between December and February. Their flavor is milder and sweeter, with less bitterness and spiciness, making them ideal for those seeking a delicate and balanced oil. One of their advantages is their higher yield, as ripe olives contain more oil. However, they have a lower concentration of polyphenols, somewhat reducing their antioxidant properties and health benefits compared to early-harvest oils.
We offer the following olive oil categories: extra virgin, virgin, organic extra virgin, refined, organic refined, intense, mild, olive pomace, and refined pomace.
